Never stop exploring Life

Senior Minister, Sally Bartholomew

Rev Sally Bartholomew has been an avid RV/camping enthusiast since the early 1980’s when she and her husband, David, first decided to buy an old used motorhome, sell off everything that would not fit in it and travel cross country. Camping turned out (and continues) to be the grandest adventure of their lives and is one reason they credit for the longevity of their 36+ year relationship. Rev Sally knows first hand the benefits and challenges that road trips may present and believes that these benefits and challenges can be purposefully used to deepen one’s relationship with Spirit, themselves, and their communities.

Rev Sally first discovered Science of Mind and Spirit philosophy and the Centers for Spiritual Living through reading books by Louise Hay and the Science of Mind magazine in 2008. At that time, she knew she had found her spiritual base camp. Ever the avid student, she jumped right into taking classes, which led her to diving even deeper into practitioner studies, serving at the Center, and subsequently being called to ministry. Rev Sally graduated from the Holmes Institute School of Spiritual Leadership with a Masters degree in consciousness studies and was licensed as a minister of Centers for Spiritual Living in January 2020.

Rev Sally served as a staff minister at the Oakland Center for Spiritual Living, collaborating closely with her senior and fellow staff ministers and the Audio Visual (AV) team to take the Center’s services and classes onto Zoom, until April of 2021, when the call to begin her focus ministry reasserted itself. She believes the greatest power of the Science of Mind and Spirit teaching is its emphasis on empowering individuals to know their spiritual truth of Oneness with God and its sharing of tools, study materials, and spiritual practices to help individuals embody this Truth.

Camp Host & Wagoneer, Dave Bartholomew

Dave Bartholomew was a practicing Episcopalian when he met and married Sally. As they explored the ideas of spirituality together during Sally’s studies, Dave deepened his own personal relationship with his “religion of One.” Dave developed a love of running as a form of keeping his heart centered and healthy.  He trained to be a U.S. Track & Field Coach Trainer (level III) and served for 9 years as the high school cross country coach at Deer Valley High School.  One of his favorite activities with the cross country team was their summer camping trips, which helped build a sense of team spirit amongst the runners and families. Dave loves the open road and a good adventure. Since retiring from his job as a Professional Land Surveyor, he’s found many new adventures and is looking forward to sharing some of these adventures with Consciousness Caravans members. If you want to go for a run, just ask!

Beloved Friend, Jackson

Jackson joined our family several years ago when our daughter, April, rescued him from an unhealthy living arrangement. He has proved himself to be a trusted and loyal friend, confidant, and spiritual advisor. He loves to travel with us and often leads the way on our hikes.
